Super Bowl Week Kicks off with Opening Night Frenzy

What a way to kick off the week for Super Bowl LI.

The NFL kicked off this hectic week with the circus that is the 2017 Super Bowl Opening Night. Both teams fielded all types of questions from the media such as regular football questions to questions about their favorite type of snacks.

Tom Brady Opening Night Super Bowl LI

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady drew the biggest crowd between all the players on Monday night. Opening Night is nothing new for Brady, as he will appear in his seventh Super Bowl appearance, the most by a player in NFL history. Brady showed his emotional side at the podium after being asked about his fathers comments toward NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on deflategate and Brady’s suspension.

“I’d say my dad represents his feelings. Because he’s a dad, I’m a dad,” said Brady. “So, yeah.”

Personalities like Gulliermo Rodriguez from ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live”, Kel Mitchell playing as Ed from “Good Burger”, and creepy #FakeTomBrady help take out the seriousness the Super Bowl can bring, but reporters took a second to ask Falcons wide receiver Mohamed Sanu about President Donald Trump executive order.

Sanu Opening Night 2017

Sanu took questions about the ban of Muslims in America six times in the first four minutes. He was not a fan of talking about it, but rather keep the questions strictly on football.

“I’m here because of my football talents, not because I’m Muslim,” said Sanu Monday night at Super Bowl Opening Night. “And I’m here to talk about football. So if you guys are going to continue to ask me about my religious beliefs, then I’m going to continue to tell you the same thing: I’m here to talk about football. I respect all you guys, I have tremendous love for all you guys, but I’m here to talk about football.”

For players, playing in the Super Bowl is something they have worked for since they were youth, or as Falcons running back Devonta Freeman put it “a dream come true.”
