RB ADRIAN PETERSON NAMED WEEK 12
FEDEX GROUND PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Eden Prairie, MN (December 3, 2015) – Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson has been named the FedEx Ground Player of the Week after his performance in the Vikings 20-10 victory at Atlanta last Sunday.
Peterson rushed for 158 yards on 29 carries and two scores to give the Vikings a win and a one-game lead in the NFC North. It was the 26th time in his career that Peterson has scored two touchdowns in a game, which breaks a franchise record previously held by WR Cris Carter. He also moves into fourth place for the most career 150+ yard rushing games with 18, trailing only Walter Payton (20), Jim Brown (22) and Barry Sanders (25).
The Palestine, Texas, native has been honored 16 times in his career as the FedEx Ground Player of the Week, including twice this season. He recently won the award two weeks ago at Oakland (11/15) when he rushed for 203 yards on 26 attempts including an 80-yard rushing score in a 30-14 triumph.
The six-time Pro Bowler currently ranks first in the NFL in rushing with 237 carries for 1,164 yards and eight touchdowns.
