Only weeks away from training camp and right before Men’s Fashion Week debuts in New York Victor Cruz has become the newest face to grace the Givenchy Fall/Winter 2015 campaign. When you’re a Superbowl Champion, co-founder of streetwear fashion line, salsa aficionado, and known off the gridiron as being a fashion icon, what’s left to accomplish other than being the face for one of fashions most iconic brands. Cruz is no stranger to fashion, he has been spotted sitting front row at many shows and graced many fashion glossies. Cruz was hand-picked by fashion wunderkind Ricardo Tisci of Givenchy for all the right reasons. The campaign, shot by icons Mert Atlas and Marcus Piggot, puts Cruz in stripes head-to-toe, a la The Godfather Trilogy.
Stripes paired with classic tailoring flatter the male athletes figure which we are so accustomed to seeing in oversized clothing, this look is one all men should try this season. Ricardo Tisci describes Cruz as “a perfect mix of charisma, power, elegance and beauty.” We knew he had swag but this definitely sums it up, he continues, “a gentleman with the looks of a bad boy.
Tisci is known for highlighting the people that inspire him no matter their background even if it is a competitor like Donatella Versace who also stars in the Givenchy Fall/Winter 2015 campaign. If Givenchy can feature Donatella Versace in their campaign then there may be hope in the Giants/Jets rivalry, one can only dream……
