Xfinity Series Race at Indianapolis might be dominated by Kyle Busch

The NASCAR Xfinity Series is supposed to be a division where drivers can gain experience and perfect their skills before moving up to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.  Think of the NASCAR Xfinity Series as Triple-A Baseball and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series as the Major Leagues.  You will see Major League ballplayers playing in Triple-A games if they are on a rehabilitation assignment, or in a slump to try to work out problems in their swing, or aspects of throwing.  However, the NASCAR Xfinity Series works a little different.  Although still the Triple-A League, drivers in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series can compete at any time.

Sometimes when the Sprint Cup Series drivers compete in the Xfinity Series, the normal Xfinity drivers have little chance at winning because these Sprint Cup Series drivers have more experience, know the track better and most of the time have a better car they are driving.

Going into the NASCAR Xfinity race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 25, 2015, it looks as if once again a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver might dominate the race, out match the normal Xfinity drivers and win.  Five NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers are entered – Kyle Busch, Kyle Larson, Kevin Harvick, Paul Menard and Aric Almirola.  However, out of those five drivers, Kyle Busch is the one most likely to be in victory lane for the Xfinity Series on Saturday.

Busch is driving the No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing and has a very impressive record in the Xfinity Series Photo Courtesy @JoeGibbsRacingin 2015, as well as for his career.  Consider this year first.  Only competing in four races so far in the Xfinity Series due to a crash in the season opening race at Daytona International Speedway that left him with a compound fracture of his right leg and broken left foot, Busch has 3 top-five finishes, along with winning at Michigan in June.  The one time he did not finish in the top-five – Daytona when he crashed.

But for his career in the Xfinity Series, Busch has recorded 71 wins, 178 top-five finishes and 231 top-ten finishes, which he has accomplished all in 300 starts.

To top it off, Busch was 1st in the first practice on July 24th with a speed of 178.717 mph and 2nd in the second practice with a speed of 175.466 mph.

With how Busch has performed so far this weekend, as well as his results in a limited number of races in the Xfinity Series in 2015, there is a good chance he will once again take the win away from a regular in the Triple-A Series of NASCAR.
