The Baltimore Ravens have reached a contract extension with defensive back Jimmy Smith that could keep him in Baltimore through 2019. The deal reportedly carries $21 million dollars guaranteed with it. Smith was entering the final year of his contract. The following video featuring Baltimore Ravens general manager/executive vice president Ozzie Newsome and CB Jimmy Smith was provided courtesy of the Baltimore Ravens who we thank for providing it.
Smith was drafted by the Ravens in the first round, selection number 27 overall, of the 2011 NFL Draft out of Colorado. One of their better defensive players, Smith was a vital part of a secondary that struggled due to injury and sub par play in 2014. Getting him under contract had been reported to be a priority for the team.
