New York Giants wide receiver ODELL BECKHAM JR. will play his 16th career game – equivalent to one full season – this Sunday when the Giants visit the Buffalo Bills.
Beckham, who was selected by the Giants in the first round (No. 12 overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft, missed the first four games of his rookie season before posting 91 catches for 1,305 yards with 12 touchdowns in the final 12 games en route to being named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. He has started his sophomore campaign strong with 19 catches for 269 yards and two touchdowns in the first three games of this season.
“He’s an outstanding young player with a bright career and future,” says Giants head coach TOM COUGHLIN about Beckham. “As he’s learning, you can only anticipate bigger and better things.”
Beckham already holds league records for the most catches (110) and receiving yards (1,574) in a player’s first 15 games to begin a career. His 14 touchdown catches are tied for the fourth-most in a player’s first 15 games.
Heading into his 16th game, here is a look at where Beckham ranks among the best debuts in league history.
He already has the most catches (110) by a player in his first 16 games – despite only playing 15 games – and is only 19 yards behind BILL GROMAN (1,593) for the most receiving yards during that span. With a 100-yard receiving game on Sunday, he will tie Groman (nine) for the most 100-yard receiving games in a player’s first 16 games.
