Kenny Stills’ Momma, Dat’s my Boy!

Kenny Stills New Orleans SaintsOn Sunday I watched my son, Kenny Stills, 3rd preseason game in Minnesota with my family. I watched the game with Kenny’s grandma, twin sisters, cousins, uncle, aunt and family friends.

Kenny was able to grab a 14-yard TD catch from Drew Brees with 1:14 left in the first half against the Texans, which lead to a New Orleans’ 31-23 victory over Houston.

It has been so special to see how proud our family is of Kenny and his accomplishments. The smiles, cheering and screaming every time he touched the ball. For us to see him make his second touchdown of his rookie career made each of us extremely proud!

Since Kenny was drafted by the New Orleans Saints, he has improved every game. I can see it in his eyes after each carry, how thankful he is to our Lord and savior for the blessing he has given him.

Stills played in all 3 preseason games and tallied seven receptions for 140 yards and 2 touchdowns.

When my son left for college it became tradition for me to send a text or call him with something positive or a verse from the bible. These messages are sent to ask God to keep him blessed and safe. Since he is no longer at home with me, I look to surrounding him with positiveness just like we did before his pop warner and high school games in Southern California.

I have continued my tradition today and will throughout Kenny’s career. I know God has his hands over my son.  This is how I ease my worries about his well being leading up to games. He is truly blessed, living his dream, and he will never take it for granted.kenny stills pic

This is so cool. You have every right to be a proud Momma and it’s fantastic that you get to write about your’s son successes.
Keep it up — we’d love to hear more of your insights about your son’s rookie year in the NFL and how both of you are adapting. After watching him play, I think you’re going to have plenty to talk about in the weeks and years to come. Congrats!
