Joseph Randle, running back for the Dallas Cowboys gave over $15,000 dollars worth of apparel and underwear to the Salvation Army this week. During the holiday season when some people are unable to get the necessities for life, Randle said this was the perfect time to give back. “Around the holiday season it’s a blessing to be able to give back now. It’s a blessing to me to be able to come back and give to the people here at the Salvation Army.”
After being arrested back in October for shoplifting underwear and cologne from a Dallas area Mall, Randle partnered with Los Angeles-based company MeUndies as way to “turn a negative situation into a positive situation.
MeUndies said they teamed up with Randle because he took responsibility for his actions and was spreading a positive message throughout the community. Randle rated the underwear a 10 on a scale of 1-10. “Man I have to go with a 10. I wear them on regular basis when I have on underwear. They’re very comfortable.”
City of Dallas Council member and former Mayor, Dwaine Caraway spoke about overcoming adversity and how it takes a great man to get up in front of hundreds and take responsibility for his actions. “For Joseph Randle to step up to the plate and admit that he was wrong, and show that mistakes happen in life, it’s amazing, especially during this holiday season. Being able to take his situation and give back during this time shows you how much he has grown since his arrest,” said Caraway.
Randle also signed autographs, took pictures with fans, shared laughs and holiday cheer with the people living at the Salvation Army.
