Cardinals vs Giants

The Cardinals got their best win of the year on Sunday. It was a game in which they destroyed the New York Giants, and in shutout fashion by a score of 23-0. Unfortunately, as Cardinal fans know it’s too little too late for the Cardinals as they are already out of Playoff contention as they move their record to 7 wins and 8 losses. However, if it was Bruce Arians and Larry Fitzgerald final game in Glendale, it was nice to send them out on top.

Offense:

-          Quarterback Drew Stanton showed why he should be the starting quarterback as opposed to Blaine Gabbert on Sunday. Stanton threw for 209 yards and completed 20 of his possible 34 throws, with 2 touchdowns. In no way would I say that Drew lit it up on the stat-sheet but he did exactly what a backup Quarterback should do, and that’s too manage a game to the best of his ability.

-          In what could be Fitzgerald last game at home he put on a show with 9 receptions for a 119 yards with a touchdown. Although, I don’t believe Fitzgerald is done, if he is then it was definitely a nice way to go out.

Defense:

-          Hopefully Bethea will stay a Cardinal after this season because he is the definition of “ol’ reliable”. With 2 interceptions on Sunday Bethea should that he is still a NFL caliber safety and belongs on a playoff contending team.

-          Along with Bethea, Safety Budda Baker is an absolute stud. Baker had 13 total tackles on Sunday – which led the team. The Cardinals have a decision to make this offseason, with the emergence of Baker it might be the end of Tyrann Mathieu’s stay as a Cardinal.

Special Teams:

-          The Special Teams has another good game on Sunday. Unfortunately, they always seem to have good games against very poor all-around teams, expect a total revamp of the Cardinals special teams come next year.

For the first time all year the Cardinal smell blood. The Cardinals can eliminate the Seattle Seahawks from playoff contention on Sunday with a win in Seattle. Although, not many teams can go to Seattle and win, In the Bruce Arians era the Cardinals are 3-1 at Century Link Field. With revenge in their hearts the Cards will try to seize the day.
