The Denver Broncos just don’t like the first half. In the Broncos three loses this season they have given up 20, 21, and 17 first half points. On Monday, the Broncos gave the Chargers a 24 point head start as both teams headed to the locker room for halftime.
The San Diego Chargers should have stayed in the locker room. The Broncos scored 35 unanswered second half points to become only the second team in NFL history to erase a 24 point deficit on Monday Night Football.
Peyton Manning finished the game 24 for 30 with 309 yards and 3 touchdown passes. All three of Manning’s touchdown passes came in the second half.
Phillip Rivers didn’t have the success that Manning did in the second half. Rivers was intercepted four times in the second half and fumbled twice. The Broncos returned a Rivers interception and fumble for a touchdown.
Next week, the Broncos (3-3) and Chargers (3-3) are on a bye.
