Josh Freeman’s Future Hangs in the Wind

Recently the New York Giants had snipped Josh Freeman’s cord as becoming one of the quarterbacks that could be on the Giants depth chart during preseason. Apparently Freeman had struggled to grab the Giant’s offense and was often late to team meetings.josh

Freeman’s future hangs in the wind, while he is very optimistic about another chance with another team playing the quarterback position he needs to understand that his stock is decreasing. Since his glory days with Tampa Bay Freeman has not improved his role as an elite quarterback nor even acts like he really cares to become the leader of any football team. To even lead your team into the “trenches” it starts with the quarterback, how he dictates himself on and off the field and his work ethics.

Teammates that have played with Freeman knows he has the talent to play at this level, but they have questioned his ability to be the leader on the team. That is one of Josh’s qualities that he needs to improve before he even try’s out for another team.

In 2011 and 2012 combined, Freeman threw for 7,657 yards, with a completion percentage at about 59%, but that was overlooked because Freeman had a problem with turning the ball over. His td/int ratio was 43-39; At times he showed that he can overcome crucial mistakes with a game winning drive or extend the game with an accurate throw, but turnovers have played a huge part in his career.

There have been some speculations around the league that the Houston Texans are looking for a quarterback that has the potential to have the mechanics such as Freeman and has been looking at him since the Giants released him. This match could work only and only if Freeman puts the time and effort to learn the system, become the leader that we all see in him, and step up to the plate. Only a few teams are interested with making Freeman their quarterback so he really needs to quit the immature  outlook, grow a pair, and play to the best of his ability or he will be on the other side of the fence pondering about the what ifs.
