THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL PREVIEW

bills-vs-JetsWeek 10 begins on Thursday night on NFL Network (8:25 PM ET) with the BUFFALO BILLS (4-4) traveling to take on the NEW YORK JETS (5-3) at MetLife Stadium.

The Jets enter Week 10 following a 28-23 victory against Jacksonville.

Jets quarterback RYAN FITZPATRICK completed 21 of 34 passes (61.8 percent) for 272 yards and two touchdowns for a 106.5 passer rating against the Jaguars. Wide receiver ERIC DECKER had six receptions for 79 yards and a touchdown, while running back CHRIS IVORY added two rushing touchdowns in the win.

“We won and that’s the biggest thing,” says Jets head coach TODD BOWLES. “There are some things that we have to clean up. We have to move on to Buffalo right now. We have a short week. We have to turn it around. It was a good win against a gritty team but we have to move on.”

Fitzpatrick (Harvard), who now has 136 career touchdown passes, needs two touchdowns passes against Buffalo to surpass Pro Football Hall of Famer SID LUCKMAN (Columbia, 137) for the most all-time by an Ivy League quarterback.

The Jets’ wide receiver tandem of Decker and BRANDON MARSHALL looks to continue their string of success in recent weeks. Including his touchdown catch last week, Decker has a receiving touchdown in seven of his past eight games. Since 2010, Decker leads AFC wide receivers with 44 touchdown catches.

Marshall, who also had a touchdown catch last week, has recorded at least 100 receiving yards or a touchdown catch in seven of his past eight games. Marshall has also recorded a touchdown reception in three of his past four games against Buffalo.

Buffalo enters Week 10 following a 33-17 win against Miami.

Buffalo rookie running back KARLOS WILLIAMS rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns in the victory. Williams is the seventh player in NFL history to score a touchdown in each of his first five career games. The Bills rushed for a total of 266 yards and three touchdowns against the Dolphins, both season highs.

“We’re excited for Thursday, especially going in with a win, we’re just super excited to move forward,” says Bills defensive tackle MARCELL DAREUS. “We’ve got 24 hours, we’re going to put this game behind us and really go full steam ahead for the Jets. We’re just ready to see what we can do.”

The Bills head into Thursday night with one of the league’s top rushing offenses in 2015, having amassed an AFC-best 141.6 yards per game and 11 touchdowns. Buffalo has rushed for 1,133 total yards, the second-most in the conference this season.

“I think it’s our bread and butter, what we do,” says Bills guard RICHIE INCOGNITO. “I think we’re really starting to hone in on what we can do well. I think we’re finding what we can do very well and we just repeatedly do it and it keeps working.”

Buffalo running back LE SEAN MC COY, who rushed for a season-high 112 yards and a touchdown last week, looks to continue his personal success on Thursdays. In four career Thursday games, McCoy averages 145 scrimmage yards per game and has six total touchdowns (four rushing, two receiving). McCoy aims for his fifth straight game on Thursday with a touchdown.
