The 2014 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl gives draft eligible players a chance to compete in a post-season All Star game. Players lucky enough to receive an invite have an opportunity to showcase their talents and network themselves to potential future employers. Pro Player Insiders caught up with one of the most promising linebackers playing in the Collegiate Bowl.
Former Iowa State University linebacker Jeremiah George considers himself to be a ‘homebody.’ It was too bad for opposing offenses that Jeremiah didn’t stay at home on Saturday’s during the 2013 season. The 5’11″, 219 lb. Senior from Clearwater, Florida recorded 133 total tackles in 2013, alongside 3.5 sacks and two interceptions.
The goal for George is to be selected in May’s NFL Draft, so he understands how important it is to be prepared for his future.
“It’s been great getting around with other players from other conferences, other schools…you know just learning how their defenses work and how we can learn and use different terminology to come together on the field as one,” said George.
Although George would be happy playing for any NFL team, one team has caught his eye more than any other. “Honestly I’d love to play for any of the 32 teams, but Lovie Smith and Tampa Bay has caught my interest right now. That’s a young team, a young defense that’s just getting better by the day,” George told PPI.
When asked where his fans could find him off the field, George said “Really I’m a homebody, so they can find me on my couch watching Netflix or tuning into my favorite show American Horror Story.”
Perhaps offensive coordinators in the NFL will be praying he stays on his couch during Sundays in the 2014 season.
