A look at seven statistical highlights from games played at 1:00 p.m. ET and 4:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, November 23, the 12th week of the 2014 season.
- The NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS improved to 9-2 with a 34-9 win against the Detroit Lions, clinching their 14th consecutive winning season. New England (2001-present) is thesixth team in NFL history to post at least 14 consecutive winning seasons and is the first to do so since the San Francisco 49ers (1983-98, 16 seasons).
- Denver quarterback PEYTON MANNING passed for 257 yards and four touchdowns in the Broncos’ 39-36 win against Miami. Manning is the third player in NFL history to throw a touchdown pass in at least 50 consecutive games, joining DREW BREES (54) and TOM BRADY (52).
Broncos wide receiver WES WELKER recorded his 50th career touchdown catch, joining ANTONIO GATES (96) and ROD SMITH (68) as the only undrafted players with at least 50 touchdown receptions in the common draft era (since 1967).
- Philadelphia rookie JOSH HUFF returned the opening kickoff 107 yards for a touchdown in the Eagles’ 43-24 win over Tennessee. Huff is the second Eagle with a 100+ yard kickoff-return touchdown this year (CHRIS POLK, 102 yards, Week 3) and Philadelphia is the first team since the 1970 Green Bay Packers to have multiple players with a 100+ yard kickoff-return touchdown in a season.
Nine different Eagles have now scored a return touchdown, tied for the most in a single season in NFL history.
- Chicago running back MATT FORTÉ rushed for 89 yards with two touchdowns and had five catches for 23 yards in the Bears’ 21-13 win over Tampa Bay. Forté has 822 rushing yards and 72 catches this year, his seventh consecutive season with at least 800 rushing yards and 40 receptions. Forté joins LADAINIAN TOMLINSON as the only players in NFL history to start a career with seven seasons in a row with 800+ rushing yards and 40+ catches.
Forté has 7,488 rushing yards and 3,517 receiving yards in 102 career games. He is thethird-fastest player in NFL history to reach 7,000 rushing yards and 3,500 receiving yards. Only Pro Football Hall of Famers MARSHALL FAULK (97 games) and MARCUS ALLEN (99) reached the milestone in fewer games.
- Green Bay running back EDDIE LACY rushed for 125 yards with a touchdown and had two catches for 13 yards with a touchdown in the Packers’ 24-21 win at Minnesota. Lacy is the first Packers running back to record at least 100 scrimmage yards and a receiving touchdown in three consecutive games in franchise history.
- Seattle quarterback RUSSELL WILSON had a 121.6 passer rating and 73 rushing yards in the Seahawks’ 19-3 win over Arizona at CenturyLink Field. In his third year, Wilson has won 20 of his first 22 career starts at home in the regular season. That is tied for the fewest starts (22) needed to reach 20 regular-season wins at home among quarterbacks who began their careers in the Super Bowl era. The other three quarterbacks to accomplish the feat are MATT RYAN, MARC BULGER and DANNY WHITE.
- Cleveland quarterback BRIAN HOYER passed for 322 yards and led a seven-play, 61-yard drive to set up the game-winning field goal in the Browns’ 26-24 win at Atlanta. Hoyer, who passed for 330 yards in Week 11 against Houston, is the third quarterback in franchise history with back-to-back 300-yard passing games, joining Pro Football Hall of Famer OTTO GRAHAM and BRIAN SIPE.
