The end of the football season is upon us and with the Super Bowl inching ever closer the NFL is taking a break in action to showcase a weekend with the stars in the NFL at the NFL Pro Bowl. The Pro Bowl will be played in its original form – NFC vs AFC. Although, the Pro Bowl will hold its traditional skills challenge, the main focus on the weekend will be the NFLs version of an All-Star game broadcast live from Orlando.
THE NFC:
Offense:
- The NFC Offense comes jam-packed with some of the greatest stars of the NFL, headlining this group are players such as MVP candidate Quarterback Russell Wilson, offensive Player of the year candidate Running Back Toad Gurley, and former practice squad member Wide Receiver Adam Thielen. These three players all look to be potential Pro Bowl MVP players as each of them – and others – exhibit their talents this Sunday.
Defense:
- Defensively, it’s a little bit tougher for the All Stars of the NFC defense to put on a show for the fans given the strict rules of the Pro Bowl. It’s always a good time to watch the Pro-bowl when players such as Xavier Rhodes and Patrick Peterson go toe-to-toe with some of the elite Wide Receivers of the AFC. However, the fun matchup that fans should keep their eyes on is the Strong Safeties of the NFC – Harrison Smith and Keanu Neal – with the aggressive power these two Safeties bring to the game it’ll be interesting if they intimidate the opposing Receivers enough to stop them from catching balls in the middle of the field.
THE AFC:
Offense:
- On the AFC side of things you have players such as Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, Running back Le’Veon Bell, and Wide Receiver Antonio Brown showing out and all representing the same team – Pittsburgh Steelers. All season long the team that came up with some of the most creative end zone celebrations were all part of the Steelers. So, by default the most interesting topic of discussion for players such as Bell, Brown, and Big Ben is what kind of celebrations they will break into during the Pro Bowl.
Defense:
- The Defense of the AFC is home of some of the loudest and trash-talking players and most of these players identify as Defensive Backs. Headlining it is chain snatching Aqib Talib, and trash talkers Jalen Ramsey and A.J Bouye. With these players squaring up against some of the best Wide Receivers it’ll be interesting to see if any fights break out because of their intense rivalry.
All in all, this is an exhibition game between the two respective conferences. The NFC vs The AFC has one job this weekend and that’s to put a show on for the fans of the NFL. With this many NFL superstars on the field it should be a treat for any of football fan. Who knows, maybe these players have something very special planned. The game will be aired on ESPN 3pm ET.
