After leaving their mark on Major League Baseball, the NBA, and the NHL, the New Era Cap Company is beginning a new relationship with the National Football League. New Era has signed a five year deal with the NFL which will make New Era the official headgear sponsor for the NFL.
New Era began sales April 1st online and at the New Era flagship stores like Buffalo, New York’s store on Delaware Avenue. New Era will also be promoting these hats at the NFL Draft at Radio City Music Hall in New York City with each draftee wearing the official New Era Cap of the team that drafts them.
There will be three different lines of NFL New Era draft collection caps. First is the 5950 which is the same model that is worn by MLB players, then the 3930 stretch fit cap, and the 950 snapback. Braden Dahl, who is the senior manager of NFL marketing for New Era said that New Era expects the exposure the National Football League will give their products will increase sales in other types of products. Dahl was very optimistic about this new relationship with New Era saying that “The number of eyeballs on our products will pay dividends to all aspects of our business, which includes baseball, college and lifestyle.”
“All will be affected, and it will be a positive effect across the board.”
The Buffalo Bills are also very excited about this new relationship with New Era and a prime example of this is linebacker Arthur Moats, who said that “It’s great, it just adds to the movement you see going on up here in Buffalo. We are pushing as hard as we can to get the big name guys up here now.”
With the launch coming just in time for the NFL draft later this month, the relationship can get off to a fast start if the fans fall in love with the new hats. Right now, fans seem to be loving these new caps and this could be the beginning of the NFL’s “New Era.”
