NFL Play 60 Kicks off Thanksgiving Weekend

FIVE NEW NFL PLAY 60 SPECIAL FEATURES TO DEBUT
NFL coaches, players and executives will help members of their community get active as the NFL celebrates health and wellness during NFL PLAY 60-themed games beginning Thanksgiving Day. From building fitness zones and playgrounds to hosting youth football clinics, teams will help children of all abilities get active for 60 minutes a day as part of NFL PLAY 60, the league’s youth health and wellness campaign.

Five new NFL PLAY 60 features will debut during NFL PLAY 60-themed games – two during Thanksgiving Day games, one on Sunday Night Football between the Patriots and Broncos on Nov. 29, one during the Monday Night Football game between the Ravens and Browns on Nov. 30 and one during the Thursday Night Football game between the Packers and Lions on Dec. 3. Features highlight players and coaches getting active with some of the NFL’s youngest fans. Below is a list of players and coaches to be featured during the respective team’s game:

Beginning Thanksgiving and continuing through week 14 of the regular season, NFL PLAY 60 games will feature:

Designed to increase physical activity levels amongst children, NFL PLAY 60 brings together the NFL’s long-standing commitment to health and wellness with partner organizations. ·        The NFL and American Heart Association released an updated version of the free NFL PLAY 60 App today, available for iOS and Android devices. ·        Washington Redskins linebacker RYAN KERRIGAN will be featured in videos leading middle school students through workouts as part of the NFL PLAY 60 Challenge, a free program designed to inspire youth to get active. Created by the NFL and American Heart Association, working with Discovery Education – a leading provider of digital content and professional development for K-12 classrooms – NFL PLAY 60 Challenge classroom curriculum, online activity guides and videos are available at no cost at heart.org/NFLPLAY60Challenge starting today.

·        The NFL and Shriners Hospitals for Children teamed to create a free NFL PLAY 60 All-Ability Guide. The program includes adaptive activities to help children with different physical abilities live an active lifestyle so that no child is left on the sidelines. ·        This fall, the NFL and the National Dairy Council launched Fuel Up to Play 60 en español, an evolution of the national flagship program extending resources to Spanish-speaking communities. Fuel Up to Play 60 is the in-school nutrition and physical activity program designed to help encourage today’s youth to lead healthier lives.

Since PLAY 60 launched in 2007, the NFL has committed more than $325 million to youth health and fitness through programming, grants and media time for public service announcements. All 32 clubs activate PLAY 60 locally, with thousands of NFL PLAY 60 events held annually. NFL PLAY 60 GAME DETAILS
Arizona Cardinals
As part of the Cardinals PLAY 60 game on Dec. 10 against the Vikings, the team will recognize youth football players from around the state of Arizona. The Cardinals will host 40 PPK participants at the game and they will lead the team onto the field during player introductions and will help unfurl the American flag during the National Anthem. The PPK winners will be recognized during halftime of the game. The Cardinals will also recognize the six high school state championship football teams along with the high school coaches and players of the week at halftime. As a lead up to the team’s PLAY 60 game, the Cardinals and American Heart Association are hosting a celebration of the PLAY 60 challenge at University of Phoenix Stadium on Dec. 1. 64 schools from across the state of Arizona participated in the PLAY 60 challenge with over 4,500 students displaying their love to stay active and to PLAY 60. The top 25 schools from the challenge will be at the stadium for the special event.
Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons will honor 11 PLAY 60 MVPs from the First Down for Fitness Program with on-field recognition and tickets to the Nov. 29 game against the Vikings. There will be a Punt, Pass & Kick contest during their PLAY 60 game, as well as in-game video features of the Falcon’s First Down for Fitness Program. The Falcons will also honor 2014-2015 Teacher of the Years for their dedication to spreading the PLAY 60 message in their schools.
Baltimore Ravens
Prior to the Ravens PLAY 60 game against the Seahawks on Dec. 13, 11 Baltimore-area youth will be invited to take part in a pre-game ceremony at M&T Bank Stadium. These fitness ambassadors, who excelled in the NFL PLAY 60 Challenge that featured more than 20,000 students, will be honored for their commitment to practicing healthy habits and exercising every day. The 11 students will stand behind the national anthem singer and be outfitted in full Ravens PLAY 60 attire. Additionally, M&T Bank Stadium will showcase the PLAY 60 campaign with goal post wraps, banners and field stencils, while 40 local boys and girls, ages 6-15, compete in the Ravens Punt, Pass, & Kick Team Championship on the stadium field prior to kickoff.
Buffalo Bills
To celebrate the PLAY 60 initiative, the Bills will host events leading up to and during their PLAY 60 game on Dec. 6 against the Texans. Local Punt, Pass & Kick Team Championship participants will stand with Bills players during the National Anthem and the PPK Team Championship winners from each age group will be recognized on the scoreboard during the second quarter. Additionally, local students that participated in the PLAY 60 Challenge and Fitness for Kids Challenge sponsored by Independent Health, the official health and wellness partner of the Buffalo Bills, and in partnership with the American Heart Association as well as student participants from the Fuel Up to Play 60 program sponsored by the American Dairy Association will form Stampede Row and welcome the Bills to the field during player introductions.
Carolina Panthers
On Nov. 23, Panthers players and their families, and members of the front office staff prepared and served a Thanksgiving dinner to over 250 homeless children and families at Bank of America Stadium. On Nov. 30, the team will travel to Wake County to award the 2015 Hometown Grant.  East Garner Middle School will receive the $10,000 award on behalf of Wake County Public School Systems. On Dec. 8, Panthers players and TopCats cheerleaders will treat 30 low-income 5th graders from Kannapolis County Schools to a shopping spree at Academy Sports + Outdoors. The Panthers will host their PLAY 60 game on Dec. 13 against the Falcons. Approximately 40 youth from across the Carolinas will participate in the annual PLAY 60 Tunnel Run. Fans are also encouraged to PLAY 60 before the game by stopping by the Southeast Dairy Association’s Fuel Up to Play 60 Kids Combine at Romare Bearden Park.
Chicago Bears
Prior to their PLAY 60 game on Dec. 6 against the 49ers, the Bears will have PPK demonstration and will recognize the winners from the PPK regional tournament that will take place on Saturday, Dec. 5 at the Bears training facility. In-game, youth football players will form the end of the tunnel that the team will run out of during starting lineups; Fuel Up to Play 60 state ambassadors will serve as honorary captains; and during halftime, they will have their annual Mascot Melee where members of the Northbrook Junior Spartans football team will scrimmage against mascot Staley Da Bear and other mascots from other Chicago, college and professional sports teams.
Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals PLAY 60 game will be on Nov. 29 against the Rams. Junior Ben-Gals will perform pre-game. The game will feature PLAY 60-themed field banners and youth involved with the Fuel Up to Play 60 program will present the game ball. NFL Punt, Pass & Kick participants team championships will take place during halftime.
Cleveland Browns
Leading up to their PLAY 60 game on Nov. 30 against the Ravens, the Browns will celebrate the top class from the Fall PLAY 60 Challenge with an invitation to the Training Facility and a chance to get active with Browns players. High school football athletes from Glenville will be highlighted for a live moment in-game, in addition to showcasing their recent visit to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank in preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday where they volunteered to help prep, pack and sort food for families served by local agencies. During the same visit to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, Browns alumni, players, significant others and staff also joined to give back through the Browns First and Ten movement and support hunger relief efforts. The 11 Top Students who participated in the Fall PLAY 60 Challenge in addition to the Top Teachers who championed the program will be celebrated for getting active for at least 60 minutes a day during a live recognition in-game on Dec. 6 during the Browns vs. Bengals game.
Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys will dedicate their Thanksgiving Day game on Nov. 26 against the Panthers to kicking off The Salvation Army’s 125th annual Red Kettle Campaign. A live nationally televised halftime performance featuring country music superstar LUKE BRYAN will mark the 19th year the Cowboys have partnered with The Salvation Army to launch the iconic holiday fundraiser. In addition, the Cowboys PLAY 60 youth team from the Gene and Jerry Jones Family North Texas Youth Education Town located at The Salvation Army Arlington will participate in pregame player introductions and presentation of the National Anthem.
Denver Broncos
The Broncos PLAY 60 game will take place on Nov. 29 against the Patriots. They will host kids from Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver on field for a pregame tribute. These kids were selected due to milestones they reached in their PLAY 60 Challenge this fall. Joining them on field will be state ambassadors from the participating Fuel Up to Play 60 schools in an effort to highlight a collaborative commitment to health and wellness.
Detroit Lions
The Lions PLAY 60 game will take place on Nov. 26 against the Eagles. Sixteen-year-old SABRINA CARPENTER, singer/songwriter and one of the stars of Disney Channel’s hit series Girl Meets World will perform the National Anthem, accompanied by 10 Detroit area youth in NFL PLAY 60 jerseys and a field-sized American Flag held by 90 Lions season ticket holders. Hip-hop artist and Detroit native BIG SEAN will perform during halftime. The performance will include Detroit PAL Youth football D-Team Champions West Seven Rams and 1st runner ups Motor City Wolverines. Big Sean’s nonprofit, the Sean Anderson Foundation, made a $5,000 donation to Detroit PAL on Nov. 8.
Green Bay Packers
The Packers PLAY 60 game is on Dec. 13 against the Cowboys. They will host the PP&K Team Championship at noon in the Don Hutson Center and all participants will take part in a passing exhibition prior to kickoff. The winners from each age group will be featured following the on-field exhibition. Prior to team introductions, 24 Fuel Up to Play 60 kids, from six Wisconsin elementary and middle schools, will run out of the tunnel and line up on the goal line for the National Anthem.
Houston Texans
The Texans PLAY 60 game will be on Nov. 29 against the Saints. The top 10 finishers from the PLAY 60 Challenge presented by Texas Children’s Hospital will join TORO for a pre-game t-shirt toss along with Fuel Up to PLAY 60 Ambassadors. The Houston Texans Foundation will award $40,000 in PLAY 60 grants to local schools to fund sports and PE programs in schools. Pre-game, representatives from the four recipient schools will be recognized on-field with a grant check presentation. U.S. gymnast SIMONE BILES will serve as the Homefield Advantage Captain helping to lead the team out of the tunnel. Biles is a three-time United States national all-around champion (2013, 2014, and 2015), three-time world all-around champion, and is the most decorated American female gymnast in the history of the World Championships. NANCY CURTISwill perform the National Anthem and USA Jump Rope will perform at halftime. During the game, we will recap our PLAY 60 Challenge winner’s assembly held at a local middle school earlier in the week celebrating the top school in the area from the Challenge.
Indianapolis Colts
At their PLAY 60 game on Nov. 29 against the Buccaneers, the Colts will recognize winners of their PLAY 60 Challenge, a program that encourages students to track their physical activity, on the field pre-game. In addition students and staff representing Warren Township Schools, recipients of the Colts Fuel Up to Play 60 Hometown Grant, will be recognized on the field. PLAY 60 field stencils, end zone banners and goal posts wraps will also be displayed at the game. During halftime, Punt, Pass & Kick Championship participants will be recognized. Throughout the month of November, the team is hosting several Colts Fit Camps at middle schools throughout Indiana and their mascot, Blue, will share the PLAY 60 message at elementary schools through his “Be the Best You Can Be” program.
Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars will host about 800 PLAY 60 Challenge students from 4 different school districts throughout the Jaguars market area for their Dec. 13 game against the Colts. Students, along with their PLAY 60 teachers, will receive tickets to the game, Jaguars PLAY 60 shirts, PLAY 60 sunglasses and lunch.  Select schools will be recognized on-field during pregame programing and three PLAY 60 IMPACT schools will hold the flag during the National Anthem.
Kansas City Chiefs
During the Chiefs PLAY 60 game on Nov. 29 against the Bills, the team will join the Midwest DairyAssociation’s Fuel Up to Play 60 program in recognizing 11 youth leaders in that initiative. The students will participate in a special tailgate featuring healthy food options, including dairy, and then they will help welcome the Chiefs players to the field during pregame introductions. Forty local youth will also participate in the Chiefs PP&K team championship at The University of Kansas Hospital Training Complex. During a pregame ceremony, these PP&K finalists will be recognized on-field. The Chiefs will also continue its hunger-relief programing as it hosts the annual Chiefs Kingdom Food Drive, which set an NFL benchmark by providing nearly 180,000 meals for the Harvesters last year, as fans enter the stadium. Earlier in the week, the team will also continue a tradition as President MARK DONOVAN and the CHIEFS ROOKIE CLUB join other volunteers to distribute nearly 1,700 holiday baskets to families in need via the annual Chiefs Thanksgiving Food Distribution.
Miami Dolphins
In honor of PLAY 60 month, the dolphins will host a Punt, Pass & Kick Championship prior to their PLAY 60 game against the Ravens on Dec. 6. Participants will run through the tunnel prior to team intros with their PPK jerseys, along with a group of PLAY 60 kids in PLAY 60 jerseys. Both groups will line the back of the end zone for the National Anthem. PPK winners from the competition prior to the game will be recognized during a presentation at the beginning of halftime. There will also be PLAY 60 branding throughout the stadium. There will be a youth performance on the tailgate stage and a PLAY 60 bus will be parked on the plaza near the youth programs gameday activation.
Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings will feature field markings, goal post wraps, a gameday playbook and video board assets for their PLAY 60 game against the Seahawks on Dec. 6. A group of students from the organization ACES, Athletes Committed to Educating Students, will run through the team tunnel and onto the field in time for team introductions during pregame. They will be representing the team’s efforts towards engaging the Play 60 messaging in youth across the state of Minnesota. A group of Fuel Up to Play 60 student ambassadors will also run through the tunnel during player introductions. The 40 Punt, Pass & Kick team championship participants will be recognized on-field prior to the game. This entire group will line the end zone for team introductions and the National Anthem. In conjunction with their PLAY 60 campaign, the Vikings will also be recognizing 30 Minnesota high school football players that are graduating seniors. This group will be recognized on field during a halftime presentation.
New England Patriots
The Patriots will host their PLAY 60 game on Dec. 6 against the Eagles. 11 students from a Boston area elementary school will be invited to the game to take part in the pregame ceremonies. The students will be wearing PLAY 60 attire and form a tunnel with the cheerleaders as the Patriots take the field. The students were hand-selected from their school for showing a commitment to their school work, healthy eating and exercising for 60 minutes a day. The game will also feature Fuel Up to Play 60 Student Ambassadors from the New England Dairy Council, in-game PA announcements and more.
New Orleans Saints
The regional Punt, Pass & Kick program will take place during the Saints PLAY 60 game on Dec. 6th against the Panthers and all participants will be included in the pregame ceremonies. A group of kids who participate in the Southeast United Dairy Industry Association’s Fuel Up to PLAY 60 program will serve as the game’s featured Tunnel Team during on-field player introductions. Throughout the game, in-game electronic messaging will promote the PLAY 60 message. Saints staff will also promote the PLAY 60 message at the LHSAA’s High School Football Game of the Week as they will host a Junior Training Camp along with a Saints Experience featuring inflatable interactives at the event.  A Saints JTC and Saints Experience will be hosted at Medhard H. Nelson Charter School in New Orleans as well.   Kids at all events will wear Saints PLAY 60 eye black decals.
New York Giants
The Giants PLAY 60 game is on Dec. 6 against the Jets. The team will host the Punt, Pass & Kick Regional Championship. The championship will take place in their field house that morning. Winners will then be announced in-stadium during the game. All will participate in the gauntlet, where the players will enter into the stadium. The Giants will also host 11 PLAY 60 Ambassadors from the two Fuel Up to Play 60 recipient schools.
New York Jets
As part of the Jets PLAY 60 Game Equipped by Modell’s on Nov. 29 against the Dolphins, 11 sixth graders from Florham Park, Madison and Harding, N.J. will lead the Jets out of the tunnel during player introductions. Children were selected for their commitment and involvement in the American Heart Association’s Jets PLAY 60 Challenge. Additionally, 20 students from 10 New Jersey schools will be honored on field for their excellence in the Jets PLAY 60 Equipped by Modell’s school program. The Jets and American Dairy Association and Dairy Council will present two $5,000 Hometown Grants to local Fuel Up to Play 60 schools.
Oakland Raiders
The Raiders PLAY 60 game is on Dec. 6 against the Chiefs. Leading up to the game, the Raiders will host a celebration at the winning school for the Fall PLAY 60 Challenge. Raiders players will be speaking to students about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and will run youth football drills. The Raiders will also host a series of Gatorade Junior Training Camps, free youth football clinics geared towards boys and girls ages 7-12 throughout the week. In honor of PLAY 60 week and the NFL FLAG program, NFL FLAG essential kits will be donated to each school participating in training camps that week. On gameday, 11 students from the winning school of the PLAY 60 Challenge will be invited on-field to stand with the players during the National Anthem. Finalists from the Punt, Pass & Kick competition that took place earlier that morning will also be invited on-field and acknowledged for their achievements.
Philadelphia Eagles
As part of the Eagles PLAY 60 game on Dec. 13 against the Bills, a local youth squad will line up in the fan tunnel to greet Eagles players as they make their way onto the field. The participating children will be outfitted in full PLAY 60 uniforms. Prior to the game, the annual NFL PPK competition will take place at the NovaCare Complex, the team’s practice facility. All competitors will be recognized during a pregame announcement at Lincoln Financial Field, followed by another announcement during the first quarter break to acknowledge the overall winners. MVP360 youth football players will compete in a halftime scrimmage and then another youth group will greet the Eagles as they make their way back onto the field for the second half. Additionally, PLAY 60 field stencils, banners and goal post wraps will be featured in-stadium.
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers PLAY 60 game will take place on Dec. 6 against the Colts. The Steelers will host a Punt, Pass & Kick competition that same day. Additionally, local students who participated in Fuel Up to Play 60 will attend the game and be on the sidelines for pregame and the National Anthem.
San Diego Chargers
The Chargers will showcase regional Punt, Pass & Kick contestant on-field during pre-game of their PLAY 60 game on Dec. 6 against the Broncos. Participants will get a chance to showcase their athleticism in front of thousands of fans. During player introductions, select PPK participants will don PLAY 60 jerseys and join players as they run out of the tunnel and on the sideline during the National Anthem. At halftime, the Chargers will highlight the team’s long-running Junior Charger Girls program with hundreds of young dancers getting active and performing with the Charger Girls. The Junior Charger Girls program serves as a fundraising platform for both Make-A-Wish San Diego and the Chargers Community Foundation.
San Francisco 49ers
At their PLAY 60 game on Nov. 29 against the Cardinals, the 49ers will recognize the 10 first place Punt, Pass & Kick winners on field (5 boys and 5 girls). Six children from the California Milk Advisory Board will flank the National Anthem singer and 48 PPK regional finals participants will be on the sideline with players for the anthem. At halftime, there will be a scrimmage between children and mascots.
Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks PLAY 60 game will be on Nov. 29 against the Steelers. Throughout the game, the Seahawks will celebrate youth who have pledged to play 60 minutes a day and stay active.  12 PLAY 60 Ambassadors will join the team on the sideline during pregame introductions.  The 12 PLAY 60 Ambassadors were selected due to their involvement in PLAY 60 programs and activities, encouraging youth to lead a healthy and balanced lifestyle. The Seahawks will also recognize the regional finalists from the NFL Punt, Pass & Kick program.
St. Louis Rams
The Rams PLAY 60 game is on Dec. 6 against the Cardinals. The Rams will be hosting their NFL Punt, Pass & Kick team championship prior to the game and the 40 participants will be honored on the field prior to kickoff.  Additionally, 40 PLAY 60/Fuel Up to Play 60 ambassadors from the St. Louis area will be invited to the field to enjoy the Rams’ pre-game warmups.  The PLAY 60/Fuel Up to Play 60 Student Ambassadors will then join the Rams cheerleaders to form the player tunnel for team introductions prior to the start of the game. Following the game, the kids will be invited to take part in a special post-game event called “Rushing with Rampage” where they will be able to join team mascot, Rampage, for a variety of PLAY 60 activities.  Each child will also receive a foam football and certificate of participation.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Buccaneers hosted a series of PLAY 60 events in the lead-up to their PLAY 60 game on Dec. 13 against the Saints. On Nov. 17, the Buccaneers Rookie Club congratulated Pinellas Park Middle School for winning the 2015 Fuel Up to Play 60 “Defend Your Turf Challenge” with a $5,000 donation towards health and wellness programs. That same day, Buccaneers players delivered and sorted food at Metropolitan Ministries that was collected at the “Sack Hunger Stack Toys” collection drive. To help reduce food insecurity in Tampa Bay during the holidays and promote a healthy lifestyle, the Buccaneers offensive linemen will provide 750 families with a healthy Thanksgiving meal on Nov. 24 as part of the 9th annual “Turkey Time with the O-Line” event.
Tennessee Titans
The Titans will host their PLAY 60 game on Dec. 6 against the Jaguars. They will host the Punt, Pass & Kick state championship at the Jaguars practice facility. The championship teams in each age group will be honored at halftime of the game. Additionally, at halftime, the Jaguars will honor 11 athletes from Special Olympics Tennessee as their PLAY 60 representatives.
Washington Redskins
On Nov. 21, the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation (WRCF) – along with staff, players and alumni – will join more than 500 volunteers at the 13th annual Redskins Harvest Feast presented by Ryan Homes to assemble and distribute Thanksgiving food baskets, including whole turkeys, to 2,500 Prince George’s County, Md. families representing nearly 15,000 people in need. Additionally, the winners of the 3rd annual Salute to PLAY 60 Military Challenge – those who log the most daily activity minutes for the 4-week program in October – will be honored on-field at the Redskins PLAY 60 game on Nov. 29 against the Giants. The winners will form the fan tunnel for player introductions.

About Fuel Up to Play 60:
Fuel Up to Play 60 is an in-school nutrition and physical activity program launched by National Football League (NFL) and National Dairy Council (NDC), founded by America’s dairy farmers, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The program encourages youth to consume nutrient-rich foods (low-fat and fat-free dairy, fruits, vegetables and whole grains) and achieve at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day. As a result of the program, 13 million students are making better food choices by selecting nutritious options like low-fat and fat-free dairy products, fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Additionally, 16 million students are getting more physically active during the school day as a result of the program.
