In the aftermath of the events that transpired at the Boston Marathon, the NFL is heightening security for next week’s NFL Draft. A released league statement has stated that they will plan on “enhancing” security plans for the weekend.
“The NFL and its clubs have operated with a very high level of security since 9/11 for all of [the league] games and events. For next week’s draft, we will review and enhance our already comprehensive security plans with the NYPD, Radio City [Music Hall], and our private security partners. We will advise the public more specifically next week prior to the draft,” per NFL spokesman Greg Aiello.
The league had released a similar statement in regards to the upcoming Super Bowl in the New York/New Jersey area for 2014.
