Familiar Sight for Patriots as they Aim for Sixth Super Bowl Trophy

Another season almost in the books, another Super Bowl, and another season the New England Patriots will be playing in for the Lombardi trophy.

The Patriots will face the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis; the second time these two teams will have played in the Super Bowl in the 18-year career of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Brady and the Patriots won the Super Bowl 35 over the Eagles 24-21.

Brady threw for 236 yards and two touchdowns in his first Super Bowl against the Eagles for the Patriots third Super Bowl win in four years. Now in 2018, Brady and the Patriots are looking for the same result as they will try to win their third Super Bowl in four years again.

Brady will have a full arsenal of weapons on display Sunday. He has the full ‘Brady Bunch’ available as Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was cleared from concussion protocol and will play on Sunday to go along with receivers Brandin Cooks, Chris Hogan, Danny Amendola and running backs Dion Lewis, James White and Rex Burkhead.

Former Patriot and current Eagles defensive end Chris Long knows how serious Brady takes the Super Bowl after winning last year with him. He knows not to play around and get after him.

In their two playoff games, the Eagles have hit the quarterback 19 times. It is something they want to continue to build on.

“You can’t take it easy on him,” said Long on facing Brady. “He knows that. He’s not going to take it easy on us…One of the big matchups will be Tom [Brady] against our defense.”

The Eagles are coming into the game hot. They beat the Minnesota Vikings 38-7 in the NFC Championship game while the Patriots had to comeback from 10-points in the fourth quarter to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-20 in the AFC Championship game.

With a win, Brady will have his sixth Super Bowl ring. That would put him in the conversation for “greatest male athlete of all time” conversation. It will be a tough battle, but he believes in the guys on his team.

“It’s going to be fun. It’s going to be a lot of hard work,” said Brady on the facing the Eagles “We’re playing a great team, but we’ve got a locker room full of guys that are ready for the challenge.”
