Giants TE Ben Patrick surprisingly announced his retirement from the NFL. The 26-year-old signed a 1-year deal with the G-Men just last week. Patrick explained that he’s dealing with personal issues and hopes to return to the league at some point. It doesn’t sound like it’ll be this year though. That leaves Travis Beckum as the Giants’ clear-cut starting TE. He’s caught just 21 passes through his first 2 NFL seasons but has the size and athleticism to do some damage. He’s looking like an intriguing late-round flier.
