Arizona Cardinals: The Future

The Cardinals were not able to defend home-field versus their division rival Seattle Seahawks last week. The outcome of the game shouldn’t have surprised anyone. A quarter way into the season it’s easy to see that the Arizona Cardinals are not going to be very competitive in the 2018 NFL Season. However, if you attended the Cardinals home game Sunday the feeling wasn’t a sense of defeat, but instead hope. For the first time in years the Arizona Cardinals seemed to have found their franchise Quarterback that can lead them to the promised land for years to come.

Sure, the Arizona Cardinals took a loss that might be tough to swallow – mainly because it was to a division rival at home – but the Cardinals seem to have beat themselves with far too many missed opportunities. The one bright spot was the Cardinals rookie Quarterback Josh Rosen who seemed to absolutely show as much promise as a rookie quarterback can show in their first outing. Rosen seemed to give the Cardinals every chance they could to win and possibly even bury the depleted Seahawk Defense. Although a loss, most Cardinals fans seemed to be encouraged by the Rookie’s promise. Coach Steve Wilks also gave the Quarterback out of UCLA high praise following the loss. “I thought he gave us every opportunity to win that football game. Again, very poised, great leader”, Wilks said.  Even though Rosen only completed 15/27 passes with 180 yards, the rookie had multiple drops from the Cardinal wide receivers which costed him a couple touchdowns and over a hundred yards of passing.

The Season shouldn’t be focused anymore on an improbable playoff run or trying to shock opposing teams with a new game plan. Rather they should continue with the development of Rosen and continue to put hope back into the hearts and minds of Cardinal fans everywhere. After this season the Cardinals can use their excess of money to give Rosen the weapons he needs to make this – as of now – mediocre team into a Super Bowl Contender for years to come.

The growth of Rosen and the Cardinals continues this weekend when they travel to Santa Clara, California, to tackle the 49ers in a divisional Matchup where the Cardinals will try to snag their first win of the Season.
