Alex Smith had thrown only one interception all season. On Sunday, in a rematch of last season’s NFC Championship Game, Smith threw three interceptions and the Giants trounced the 49ers 26-3.
The Giants got 116 yards rushing and a touchdown from Ahmad Bradshaw. Eli Manning hooked up with Victor Cruz in the endzone for the fourth time in two games, and Lawrence Tynes kicked four field goals.
The 49ers never got their ofense going. Frank Gore was held to only 36 yards rushing and Smith only managed 200 passing yards.
Next week, the Giants (4-2) are home for a division game against the Redskins and the 49ers (4-2) are home to play the Seahawks on Thursday Night Football.
