Russell Wilson: Highest Paid QB

Seattle, WA- The Seattle Seahawks and QB Russell Wilson agree to four-year, $140 million extension that includes a $65 million signing bonus. Wilson gave the Seahawks an ultimatum, which was to give him an extension before April 16 or he will take his talents elsewhere. In his contract, it states that there is no-trade clause sources said.

“Oh yeah, if that’s what I’ve got to do,” Wilson said. “It’s business and everything. I know essentially after the season, I could potentially be a free agent, that kind of thing. I don’t think that way. I see myself being in Seattle. I love Seattle, and it’s a special place for me.”

Since Wilson was drafted to the Seahawks in 2011, the Seahawks have only missed the playoffs once (2017), has a Superbowl championship, and has always been one of the top QB’s in the league. Last season, he was right in the mix with Drew Brees and Patrick Mahomes with having a passer rating over 100. Wilson also had his best season with having 35 touchdowns and having seven interceptions.

The Seahawks have one contract off their backs, but where does that leave Bobby Wagner and Frank Clark who are looking for extensions this upcoming season.
