Critical Points For the Bills

Buffalo- On Thursday, the Buffalo Bills will face the Indianapolis Colts in their first preseason game and there will be a lot of players fighting for a spot on the roster. The Bills have to find a way to fix their offensive line to give their QB Josh Allen some time in the pocket, but they have to get their players healthy.

Center Mitch Morse will not play in the preseason game, because he is diagnosed with a concussion. Without him in the game, the Bills will have to dial up plays to get Allen’s passes out within a two-second window, because he will get hit, hurried, and could turn the ball over, if he gets pressured. There have been a lot of injuries that the Bills have sustained and there have been critics that have been asking what now. “All we can do is evaluate the combinations that are out there,” coach Sean McDermott said. “We can’t evaluate the combinations that aren’t out there because those are hypothetical at this point and that’s not healthy.”

Wide receiver Robert Foster is looking to secure the roster and he has not had a good camp as of now. He has seen some of his time decreasing with Cole Beasley, John Brown, and Zay Jones taking more opportunities from him. The Bills thought Foster could be the next key factor with this organization last season, but he did not produce until the second half of the season when he had three games that he received over 100 yards. Foster needs these preseason games to let the coaches now that they did not waste any time on him. He is a physical receiver and is good at creating space, but he needs to be more consistent with locating the ball.

Lastly, the Bills will be observing their tight ends and right now, they are very thin at the tight end position. Tyler Kroft, Jason Croom, and Dawson Knox are all out of the lineup, because of injuries that they have sustained.  There have been some talk that Lee Smith may get the job, but nothing is set in stone.
