Tom Brady grew up a huge Joe Montana fan. Today, Brady won his 17th playoff game to pass Montana (16) for the most all time. With the New England Patriots 41-28 win over the Houston Texans, Brady is one win closer to tying Montana with a fourth Super Bowl win.
After 10 straight points to end the first half, the Texans walked off the field down 4 points and seemed to have to momentum. The second half was almost all Patriots as they took control of the game with 21 consecutive points. With 12:oo remaining the Patriots were in control of the game leading 38-13. Despite a late push by the Texans, the Patriots won 41-28.
Brady passed for over 300 yards and had 3 touchdown passes. Shane Vereen had 124 yards from scrimmage and 3 touchdowns. Wes Welker paced the offense with 8 catches for 131 yards.
Patriots tight end Rob Gornkowski was injured early in the game and is believed to be out for the rest of the season with a forearm injury.
Arian Foster scored a touchdown for the fourth time in four playoff games for the Texans. JJ Watt was held in check by the Patriots offensive line. Watt had just 4 tackles and a .5 a sack.
Next week, the Patriots host the Ravens is a re-match of last year’s AFC Championship game.
