Bills Extend Contract for OT Pears

The Buffalo Bills announced that OT Erik Pears has signed a contract extension with the team. In accordance with team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.  Pears, a seven-year NFL veteran, has started all 13 games in 2011 as part of an offensive line that has allowed an NFL-best 17 sacks and blocked for an AFC-best 4.8 yards per rushing attempt (324-1,542) through Week 14.

A 6-8, 314-pound Colorado State product, Pears entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Denver in 2005. He has started 44 of 59 games played with stints with the Broncos (2005-08) and Oakland (2009) prior to joining the Bills as a free agent on December 14, 2010.
