- Late Monday Night Larry Fitzgerald hosted his formal – 9th annual – Steak Dinner event to raise money for his First Down Foundation. In doing so Fitz once again demonstrated why he is the reigning Walter Payton Man of the Year Recipient. The theme for this year’s Steak Dinner was, “The Grand Illusion” in which a night of good food and top shelf magic would rule the night. As expected many athletes, coaches, and friends of Fitzgerald were in attendance to showcase their support for the Wide Receiver.
Event Festivities:
- Monday Nights charity event was hosted at Dominick’s Steakhouse – one of Arizona’s finest steak eateries – located east of Phoenix in Scottsdale, Arizona. After all the celebrities and athletes made their way down the red carpet and fielded questions from the press, the First Down Foundation had arranged that players and coaches alike would serve those who are dining in for the evening. Along with a marvelous steak dinner, those in attendance were also dazzled by a well-known professional magician, and of course all proceeds went towards benefitting Fitzgerald’s First Down Foundation.
Giving Back:
- As the Stars and athletes walked the red carpet I was able to catch up with Arizona Cardinals Wide Receiver Larry Fitzgerald, and listened attentively as he explained how this event would benefit the community around us. “We are raising money for Breast Cancer research and youth Awareness” Fitzgerald said. He then went on to tell me what it meant to him to have so many teammates and coaches back him in so many of his charity events. “It’s really fun and awesome to have your teammates and coaches participate in the things you do”. As the night marched on I was also able to catch up with Arizona Cardinals Head Coach Bruce Arians and I asked him how it felt supporting Fitzgerald in his philanthropic endeavors. Bruce Arians told me, “oh gosh we wouldn’t miss it” He said and continued giving high praise to his Wide receiver. Along with head coach Bruce Arians, the entire Arizona Cardinals Organization shard their support for Larry Fitzgerald with their attendance.
- Mondays Night Dinner was a great sight to watch as stars and athletes came together to support a cause that is very important to Larry Fitzgerald and his foundation. However, this is not Fitzgerald’s only attempt to raise money for charity as the former All-Pro Wide Receiver also holds his celebrity softball game every March.
Overall, the festivities from Fitzgerald’s steak dinner fundraiser was a lot of fun and bought the community together for a good cause. Of course, Larry plans on continuing his fundraising events to raise money for the First Down Foundation.
