BILLS SIGN G GROY & WR THIGPEN
ORCHARD PARK, NY – The Buffalo Bills today announced that the team has signed G Ryan Groy and WR Marcus Thigpen. In accordance with team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Groy comes to Buffalo off of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad. The 6-5, 320-pound Wisconsin product originally entered the NFL in 2014 with the Chicago Bears, appearing in four games with three starts at guard for Chicago. In addition to the Bears and Buccaneers, Groy has spent time with the New England Patriots—joining the team via trade earlier this season during training camp.
Thigpen rejoins the Bills after spending time with the team during the 2014 season and earlier this year. Thigpen has played in 46 career games, accumulating nine career receptions for 112 yards and one touchdown in addition to returning 86 punts for 848 yards, two touchdowns. Thigpen has also returned 93 kickoffs for 2,226 yards and one touchdown. The 5-9, 200 poundIndiana product entered the NFL in 2009 when he signed as an undrafted free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Groy will wear number 72 and Thigpen will wear number 11.
The Bills also announced that the team has released RB Dan Herron and WR Denarius Moore.
