Vikings Re-Sign DT Tom Johnson

Eden Prairie, MN (March 11, 2015) – The Minnesota Vikings have re-signed Tom Johnson.

Johnson returns to the Vikings after posting a career year in 2014 with Minnesota. Johnson recorded a career-high 6.5 sacks in a career-best 16 games played while earning his first 2 NFL starts. The 5th-year player entered the season with 5.0 sacks in 40 career games in his first 3 NFL seasons. Johnson’s 6.5 sacks were the 2nd best on the team in 2014 and he added 32 tackles, 8 TFLs, 30 QB hurries and 1 forced fumble. Johnson finished the 2014 season tied for 8th most sacks by a DT in the NFL and tied for 5th most in the NFC, with 6.5. Johnson got his NFL start as a rookie free agent in 2006 and had playing stints in NFL Europa, the Arena League and the CFL before eventually finding a home in Minnesota after making his first NFL roster in 2011 with the New Orleans Saints.
