Former New England Patriot’s quarterback Tim Tebow has been attempting to resurrect his NFL career by hard work and showing his critics that indeed he has the potential to play at the NFL level and not just be thought as a great college quarterback. After being released by the Patriots Tebow has been very optimistic and level headed about his future in the NFL.
“I’m training every day and feel like I’m the best that I’ve ever been,” Tebow says. “I still love it, love playing, talking about it, and I’m just excited about whatever the future holds. Who knows what could happen? But I’m excited about it, though.”
In the years that Tebow has played in the NFL he had some horrific stats, but still gave his team a chance to win the game. Who doesn’t remember the pass of the century against the Pittsburgh Steelers? It was the start of overtime with the game on the line when Tebow delivered a dart down the middle to Demaryius Thomas to stun the Steeler’s season. That was a gutsy call with the throw delivered in a tight window to the receiver. Love him or hate him Tebow is still a winner in people’s hearts.
Even though Tebow doesn’t have enough arm strength to toss the ball down the field like he wants to, he utilizes his strengths to compete each and every game. He plays with his heart on his sleeve and the players he has played with could tell you. Wide receiver David Nelson recalls how Tebow was humble through his adversities on and off the field with the Jet’s organization. “He really enjoyed his time here in New Jersey. I think that’s been documented. The playing time situation and how he fit in the offense, that’s for other people to speculate on,” Nelson stated. “When I went to his gala for his foundation in Orlando, there were four or five guys from the Jets there. I think that says something about him, in which he leads by example.”
Recently Tebow has been offered a job with the SEC Network this fall covering college games, but his passion for being on the field hasn’t left his mind and he is taking the necessary steps to keep that dream alive.
