What’s Next for Tim Tebow

Tim Tebow may be a free agent at the moment, but his quest to remain in the NFL and continue his work for our Lord Jesus Christ is still stronger than anything that has been thrown at him during his lifetime.

Pamela and Robert Tebow had a blessed lifestyle; their faith kept them honest with God and their willingness to do God’s work led them to the Philippines. During their missionary work there, Pamela contracted amoebic dysentery (a disease normally affecting the intestines) and soon after fell into a coma. During recovery, they found out she was pregnant and due to the medication she was on, the fetus suffered a placental abruption. Doctors told the couple that there would be a stillbirth and recommended an abortion even though it was illegal in the Philippines. Because of their faith, they decided against it and Timothy Richard Tebow was born August 14th, 1987 in Makati City, Philippines.

Tim Tebow went to Nease HS and Trinity Christian Academy, both in Florida. He played his college ball at Florida, where he proceeded to win multiple awards: The Davey O’Brien Award (Best QB in Nation), a 2 time Maxwell Award winner (Top College Player), and the James E. Sullivan Award (Nations most outstanding amateur athlete in any sport). To top that off, Tebow was the 1st ever sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy and then he was a huge help in the Florida Gators winning 2 National Championships.

During the 2010 NFL Draft, Denver Broncos Head Coach Josh McDaniels took a huge leap and traded Tim-Tebow-598x2-510x234 their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round picks to Baltimore for Tim Tebow. Questions popped up as to whether or not Tebow would make it as a NFL starter. Probably the best answer came from former Tampa Bay Buccaneers Head Coach Jon Gruden: “It’s not just about playing quarterback, it’s about adding him to your football team, who knows when he’s going to play, what he’s going to play, how he’s going to play? But you are adding one big-time human being on your football team. This is what Josh McDaniels is all about — character, work ethic, dependability and leadership. And this guy, Tebow, will not be denied. He will develop into a big-time football player. He will be huge in the Broncos’ community. I love this pick right here. I’m a little surprised that it’s Denver given the fact they just traded for Brady Quinn. But I know Josh McDaniels is an offensive guy, a creative mind. They got into the wildcat last year with Knowshon Moreno. They’ll have a package for Tebow. It might be in the red zone, short yardage and goal line, but this guy’s going to give them something.”

He did just that—regardless of how ugly it was at times! Tim was responsible for 6 4th quarter/OT comebacks and in his second year, led the Broncos past the Pittsburgh Steelers in his 1st playoff game.

The very next year, the Broncos landed the biggest free agent acquisition since Emmitt Smith when they acquired Peyton Manning. Instead of offering Tebow the backup job, they opted to send him to the NY Jets.

Not too many mistakes made by a team or player have been bigger than this move!

We don’t need to discuss what a huge mess the move to NY was; we all know how it turned out.

Faced with the possibility of no other NFL team becoming interested in either Tebow or the media circus that follows, offers sprouted from the Arena Football League to go play there. Tim decided that the NFL was where he wanted to be and he declined the offers. This decision led to him being picked up by the New England Patriots. If there is any Head Coach that could handle the media circus—it’s Bill Belichick. Interviews were held to a minimum and unwanted questions were ignored. Seems like nothing left to do but play the game right? In the end, Tebow did not play well and couldn’t perform in practice quite like Belichick had hoped. On the final day of roster cuts, the Patriots released Tebow back into the wild.

We are back in present mode ladies and gentlemen.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are the next target for Tim, and not because he says so.

A rally in Jacksonville was scheduled for Sept. 17th and was started to create awareness to the ownership that the fans are tired of what they have and they want TEBOW. Unfortunately, only a few people showed up and the attempt at securing national media for this event failed miserably.

But he still has supporters. Supporters that are willing to speak out. Chuck Norris is one of those supporters. He recently wrote a 1500 word article in which he expressed his admiration for Tebow and his desire to make NFL Owners realize exactly what they are missing out on! Here are just a few tidbits from this article:

“I have been following Tim since he became a quarterback for the Florida Gators, and I have never seen a more determined and inspiring athlete play the game of football. And I’m not alone in that sports assessment.”

Norris then insists that the Jacksonville Jaguars are the right home for Tebow.

“Why? To put it simply, because Tim could help turn the mediocre team into a championship one. Tebow works miracles on the field, and his inclusion would embolden the spirit of the Jaguars among the team and fans.

Plus – and this has no reflection on the current quarterbacks – Tim is from Florida, where he bears a victor legacy and an extensive fan base, to boot, from his days with the Gators. Tim was raised in the Jacksonville area, where he became a high-school football star. Then his young, stellar career shot into the stratosphere when he led the University of Florida in Gainesville to some record-breaking wins. Tim won two national championships with the Gators and became the first sophomore ever to win the coveted Heisman Trophy.

So, Mr. Shad Khan – the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars, David Caldwell – their general manager and coach Gus Bradley, I would give the preceding some serious thought. Whatever you would pay Tebow would be recouped tenfold by the increase in attendance and fan base. With Tim as the quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars, they would add thousands (if not tens of thousands) of additional fans to the stadium, including me – even though I don’t live in Florida!

All that is needed now is an owner, manager and coach of a football team who have the vision and faith to watch Tebow turn around their team. I guarantee that they will see positive results. I have been an athlete all of my life, being a six-time undefeated world middle weight champion in the martial arts, and I know a winner when I see one.

Tim Tebow is a winner – plain and simple!”

Tim Tebow still plans on playing in the NFL, and neither the Arena League nor the Moscow Black Storm will cause him to stray from his goal. What is Tebow’s goal? Is it to be the best QB? Is it to win a Super Bowl? Is it simply to prove all of these critics wrong? Is it possible that he simply just wants to be in the NFL and to continue his lifelong job of doing God’s work? How long will it take for fans and the media alike to finally realize that you will not break his faith or determination?

You could spend a solid year reading articles on Tebow; articles bad mouthing his ability to play in the NFL, criticism after criticism regarding his Christian faith, but how many articles do you read that take that different path and discuss what he does off the field?

The Tebow family have spent their entire lives serving God because this is what they feel is right. All 5 siblings were homeschooled and all of them have served in multiple mission work. Since coming into the league in 2010, Tim has only expanded his resources for the missionary work that he has done.

Here are just a couple videos of the organizations/projects that Tebow has brought to life since joining the NFL in 2010:

While most young men enter the league dreaming of fancy cars and homes, expensive jewelry and parties exploiting their inability to handle their newfound fortune, Tebow is one of the few real God fearing humans left in this world with a purpose to help others before him. The best part and the saddest too, is Tebow isn’t even the one promoting all of this negative energy.  He has never asked for the rallies, the media three ring circus or the millions that debate on the internet discussing his game play.

Tim: Do not STRAY from the path that you are on. Regardless of what happens with your NFL career, God will stay by your side because you have stuck by HIS!

Dear Brother in Christ, My wife and I are big fans of yours and not because of your football skills at Florida or on any football field but because of the stand for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. You have been a ROCK for Him in your dealings with the press in the midst of scorn and ridicule so it is because of this that we pray for you Tim and think of you often. It is our prayer that you will succeed in the NFL and continue your platform and not a stage as many other people seem to be on. We pray that you will reach many people that others could or can not reach for Christ. What ever it is that Jesus wants we are praying you will stay strong in Christ at whatever the cost or whatever He has for you. May God continue to richly bless and comfort you Tim. We are with you and by your side with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
