The once immortal Tiger Woods may have a future with being a captain for Team USA in the upcoming Ryder Cup sources have said. If Woods decides to come back to the green for Team USA, he would line up as Davis Love III’s Vice Captain.
Davis has stated that he could see Tiger being a future captain, because of his strategic planning ability with improving the team. “Tiger was on the Task Force, he’ll be a future Captain, so he’s got to be a part of the decision-making process of this whole new, Ryder Cup committee.” (CNN)”He’s our tactician more than anything. And he’s really been helpful on how to prepare for a major championship. He’s like me. He’s excited about it, he doesn’t sleep much, and he puts a lot of thought into it.”
“There’s a reason why he’s arguably one of the greatest players to ever play the game. He knows how to prepare, he knows how to think his way around a golf course, around a golf tournament. He’s committed to being a part of it and he means it.” (CNN)
Woods has not returned to the green since last year. He has decided to take a little break to make sure that everything is 100% healthy before he touches the field again.”
Woods has had problems in the past with making the right shots or even qualifying for play. He has not had a Ryder’s victory since 2008. He has won 13 matches, but suffered 17 losses.
The United States have not had the honor of saying that they are the champions in 4 attempts, so if Woods decides to be a captain, he could get the team going into the right direction. The Ryder Cup will be held September 27th – October 2nd.
