Super “Glory Gras” Gospel Choir 2013

The stage was set for the big game, but before the Super Bowl there was a spiritual celebration, the 14th annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration. This gospel event is different from Media day or any other NFL event, here all you get is heart warming music and the celebration of the Lord.

It was clear why the Inspirational party is rated number 3 on the Miami Heralds “Top 10 Must See Events for Super Bowl.” All the money that was made will be donated to national and local charities. With many athletes like the Saints own Malcolm Jenkins and  Darren Sharper making an appearance, it was a special event.

This event was hosted by “The Views” own Sherri Shepherd and 7 time Grammy winning musician, choir director, and author, Kirk Franklin. Lacrae,  is another  amazing American Christian hip hop artist, (ministry leader, entrepreneur, record producer, and actor) also came to show his support. Recently, at the 2013 Grammys Lacrae was made history as the first Christian rapper to nab the Best Gospel Album award. Talk about using God’s gifts.

The icing on the cake was when Raven’s Super Bowl Champion, Linebacker Ray Lewis was honored at the event. Lewis has been a big supporter of this event, has attended almost every year, and even sang a couple of times. While on stage, Lewis spoke of the importance of fatherhood. He explained, ” Every man needs a father. They need a father to tell them the following things: I love you. I am proud of you. I respect you.” These words resignated with the crowd and truly reflected that Mr. Ray Lewis is more then a legendary football player but an emotion filled speaker.

The gospel event also featured as many as 40 former and current players in the choir group. Fans truly had the opportunity to see a different side of players. The faithful goupr of guys exuded serious joy and excitement as they sang praise in this years choir.

Thanks to those NFL Players, Christian artists, and celebrity supporters the 3 F’s of life-Fun, Faith, and Football came full circle at this years 14th Annual Super Bowl Gospel  Choir showcase.
