Stevie Johnson Says Touchdown Celebration a Mistake

One of the more interesting touchdown celebrations of the season was delivered by Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson Sunday.

After delivering on a 5-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter against the Jets, Johnson pretended to shoot guns and grabbed his thigh (a slam to Jets receiver Plaxico Burress who shot himself in the leg in 2008) and then mocked the “flying Jet” celebration.

Johnson was flagged for excessive celebration. Post game, Johnson said the celebration was “stupid by me and he felt like it cost [the Bills] the game.”

Following the penalty, Bills kicker Dave Rayner  kicked the ball right into Jets blocker Emmanuel Cook. The Jets took possession of the ball at Buffalo’s 36.  The Jets won 28-24.
