Rodgers 6 TDs Topples Previously Unbeaten Texans

Aaron Rodgers and Matt Schaub met Sunday night in what was supposed to be a tit for tat shoot out between two of the NFL’s top gunslingers.  It seems that Matt Schaub didn’t get the memo.

Aaron Rodgers on the other hand had a career game. Rodgers completed 24 of 37 pass attempts for 338 yards and 6 touchdowns. Yes. You read that correctly. SIX TOUCHDOWNS. Three of which went to wide receiver Jordy Nelson who finished with 9 catches for 121 yards.

Rodgers had an astronomical passer rating of 133.8 and looked like last season’s MVP once again.  All in all a great night for Packers fans.

Houston QB Schaub finished with 232 yards on 20 for 33 passing attempts with zero touchdowns and 2 interceptions. The Texans running game didn’t show up either. Top running back Arian Foster did have 2 touchdowns but was otherwise ineffective managing only 29 yards rushing on 17 carries. Backup running back Justin Forsett proved to be more effective getting 47 yards on just 7 carries. Linebacker JJ Watt had another strong performance on defense registering 2 sacks.

The Green Bay Packers handed the previously undefeated Houston Texans their first loss of the 2012 season in decisive fashion as they won 42-24.  The Texans fall to 5-1, but the Packers who went 15-1 last season and won the Super Bowl 2 years ago, are sitting at just 3-3.  But the season is still early, and as the Packers performance this week shows, if they start firing on all cylinders, they can beat anyone.
