Report: Bills Close to Reaching Deal with Jerry Hughes

The Buffalo Bills have made it clear that they are more than willing to spend money so far this off-season.

While the price-tag might be steep, it looks like Buffalo may be close to re-signing free agent defensive end to a new deal.

According to Vic Carucci of The Buffalo News, the Bills are close to finalizing a new contract for Hughes, who is coming off back-to-back 10 sack seasons in his only two years in Buffalo.

He was acquired from the Indianapolis Colts in 2013 in a head-to-head trade for linebacker Kelvin Sheppard.

Hughes, 26, is one of the top pass rushers available and if the deal is indeed intimate, the Bills will be able to keep intact one of, if not the best, lines in all of football with Hughes, Kyle Williams, Mario Williams and Marcell Dareus.

Out of those four, only Hughes didn’t make the Pro Bowl this past season.
