CONNOR COOK FALL ENDS IN 4TH ROUND, AS EXPECTED

Some thought Michigan State QB Connor Cook would go in the top 35 picks but his fall ended when the Oakland Raiders traded up to the 100th pick to take him. He became the 82nd player in the PPI Top 100 to go in the top 100. We did not send our top 100 in to the Huddle Report but after looking at our numbers perhaps we should send it in to them next year!

FIRST EVER PLAYER FROM EUROPE DRAFTED

Moritz Boehringer, from Aalen University, was drafted 180th overall in the 6th round by the Minnesota Vikings. At the Florida Atlantic pro day he ran a 4.46 40 at 227 pounds with a 1.48 10-yard, 39 inch vertical, 10’11 broad jump, 4.09 short shuttle, 6.64 3-cone, and did 17 bench reps. Boehringer has never played college football.

We are pretty sure the whole pick with him and Mike Mayock was staged. We kept hearing before the draft he would be taken for sure and we have to wonder if the NFL has set this up because he has all the physical tools and could help with NFL interest over in Europe.

CLEMSON ALL-AMERICAN UNDERCLASSMEN FALLS TO LATE 7TH ROUND

Back in high school, many believed that Clemson S Jayron Kearse was NFL bound for sure when he arrived on campus and even before the draft many projected him as a 3rd-5th round pick. He lasted until pick 244 in the 7th round by the Vikings.

NFLPA BOWL CLAIMS MR. IRRELEVANT AGAIN

For the second time in three years the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl can boast Mr. Irrelevant as Southern Miss cornerback Kalan Reed was picked 253 overall by the Denver Broncos. Back in 2014 they had Memphis FS Lonnie Ballentine who was the 256th and last pick by the Houston Texans.

They also boasted 3 of the final 5 picks to give them 14 total in this draft.
