Philadelphia Eagles select Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma

Lane JohnsonThe Philadelphia Eagles wasted little time in making their first overall pick in 2013.

With the fourth pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Eagles selected Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma. Philly fans were clearly not pleased with the pick and rained down a chorus of boos about the team’s selection.

Johnson became the third offensive lineman taken in four picks, a remarkable achievement for the big men looking to make a name in the NFL. Johnson is yet another talented offensive lineman in a draft void of any major contributors at the skill position.

It appears as if Johnson was a consolation pick since Chip Kelly missed the chance to draft his former player, Jordan.

While the 2013 edition of the draft is just underway, it seems to be the polar opposite of the 2012 version, which featured a plethora of skill positions, including the Andrew Luck/RGIII debate.
