On Tuesday, January 28th, the Next Level Sports & Business Group will combine with the NFLPA’s former players, NY/NJ chapter, to host the inaugural Next Level Sports & Business Conference, taking place in Harlem, NY, at Riverbank State Park. Jude Waddy, a retired NFL Player (Green Bay Packers) along with entrepreneurs, Ayme Sinclair and Calcie Cooper created the Next Level Sports and Business Group Conference. This business conference will provide players and former players with the opportunities to leverage their brand and social capital.
The three part conference will all take place over a one day period. The day begins with a Health and Wellness workshop where athletes and other professionals at the top of their fields will share their high level expertise on topics such as Traumatic Brain Injury and healthy living. Jermaine Lewis,a former NFL player for the Baltimore Ravens along with other highly successful professionals will come together to form a panel.
The Next Level Sports & Business Conference will also invite an assortment of students from various New York schools. The students will be on hand for a motivational session with a unique NFL panel comprised of retired New York Giants Defensive End Michael Strahan (Keynote Speaker), Mike Tomlin (Head Coach Pittsburgh Steelers), David Wilson (New York Giants Running back) and Jason Pierre-Paul (New York Giants Defensive End). The discussion will highlighted by their personal stories and the importance of education.
The conference will then move to the Branding and Wealth Workshop. This is where an interactive conversation on creating and sustaining long-term wealth and post-professional career opportunities will take place. Lewis Schiff, Chairman and Executive Director of Inc. Magazine’s Business Owners Council will lead a synergistic conversation that will focus on creating and sustaining long term wealth. Another topic for conversation will take a look at post -professional career opportunities.
After the conference, there will be an awards reception at the Riverbank Grill, with a group of invited Honorees including Don Coleman, former New York Jets Linebacker, Michael Strahan and retired New York Jets quarterback Ray Lucas.
