McCoy/Bills Agree on New 5-Year Deal

So much for that possible holdout.

The Buffalo Bills have agreed with running back LeSean McCoy on a new five-year contract, and while terms are not officially in yet (and won’t be until Tuesday), the early reports coming from agent Drew Rosenhaus have the Bills showing McCoy some big money.

While this number needs to be taken with a grain of salt, as it’s straight from his agent’s mouth, reports have the deal at $40 million for five seasons with $26.5 of that money being guaranteed.

The deal also includes $16 million in payment over the first year.  $13.125 million of that will come in the form of a signing bonus.

The new deal was needed, as McCoy still had a lot of money on his contract from the Philadelphia Eagles over the remaining three years, but was guaranteed just $1 million of it.

Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com reports that the cap hits of the contract are $5.5 million in 2015, $7.675 million in 2016, $8.875 million in 2017, $8.95 million in 2018, and $9.05 million in 2019.

So with the new deal Buffalo gets a happy running back and they save $4.75 million against the cap in the process.

Stay tuned Buffalo.

The Bills are by no means done yet.
