Kevin Mawae 2015 HOF Semifinalist

Former Tennessee Titans center Kevin Mawae has been named a semifinalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2015. Mawae, a first year nominee, played for the Titans between 2006 and 2009. Mawae’s 16 year NFL career began when he was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the second round of the 1994 draft.

Mawae would play for Seattle for four years before joining the New York Jets where he spent the next eight years. His outstanding career led to eight Pro Bowls and eight first team All Pro awards. As a Titan, he was selected as a first team All Pro in 2008 and to the Pro Bowl in 2008 and 2009.

Mawae was part of a free agent class that included Curtin Martin, who was inducted into the Hall in 2013.

Mawae has also worked tirelessly on behalf of NFL players as an NFLPA player rep and then as the President of the NFLPA.

The next cutdown will take place in January of 2015 where the selection committee will narrow it down to 15 modern era finalists.
