NFL legend Jerry Rice is lacing up the golf cleats again this week as he takes part in the Nationwide Tour’s Fresh Express Classic. Rice serves as the event’s host and is also competing as a professional golfer for the second year in a row.
Rice carded a score of 81 that unraveled during a five-hole stretch that featured a double-, triple- and quadruple bogey. Rice had been 1-under through the first seven holes of his round.
“I was not striking the ball that well but I was finding a way to get up-and-down,” said Rice. “I had three holes that really did me in. It was a little bit of a struggle but I had fun. Overall, I fought through some adversity today.”
