Gabi’s Grab Bag…

The New York Jets waived tight end Josh Baker on Monday.  Baker suffered a torn ACL Sunday night versus the Panthers and he received an injury settlement from the team.  Baker did tweet that this just another bump in the road for him, and he wishes the Jets well for this season.

It was a rough night for the tight ends last night because starter Dustin Keller was hurt after just the second offensive play of the game. He hurt his hamstring, however he tweeted recently that the injury is not bad at all and that he will be ready for the opener on September 9th versus Buffalo.  That is very good news for Jets fans. Keller is a key target for quarterback Mark Sanchez.

The Jets also waived kicker Josh Brown today. He was in a heated battle for the kicking duties with incumbent Nick Folk. Folk was perfect this preseason and Brown did miss a field goal last night. Brown said that he wishes the Jets well this season and that he really liked the guys he went to camp with.  He thanked the Jets for the opportunity this summer. Other players waived today were LB Damario Ambrose, wide outs Stanley Aruke and Wes Kemp. Also running back Jeremy Stewart was waived.
