Falcons Take on Fort Benning in Rookie Olympics

The Atlanta Falcons have always immersed in their community in unique and interesting ways. Earlier this month as part of the Fort Benning community outreach and the NFL’s Salute to Service military outreach initiative, head coach Dan Quinn and Falcons rookies hosted the “Falcons Rookie Olympics” at the Falcons practice facility.

Rookies’ Keanu Neal, Deion Jones, Austin Hooper and others headlined the “Olympics” which was an effort to illuminate  the basic components of teamwork, unity, and competitive spirit being shown by the soldiers. The rookies had an opportunity to learn from the soldiers and apply what they have learned into their own environment.

Quinn emphasized the importance of building chemistry and wanting his young players to embrace being more competitive as camp is on the horizon. Falcons’ owner Arthur Blank stopped by and thanked the soldiers for their service and expressed appreciation for the sacrifices they make in order for us to live safely.

The soldiers competed in drills and exercises like push-ups and sit-ups. They caught passes, punts, and practiced their accuracy as quarterbacks. SFC Ryan Pauly expressed his excitement being able to work with the Falcons organization.
