S Donte Whitner had an odd week, announcing that he’d join the Bengals before backtracking and signing with the Niners. He’s in San Francisco now, though, on a 3-year deal. That puts Whitner in line to start at SS. He’s a strong IDP option in tackle formats after leading all DBs in tackles last year. He takes over a position in which Michael Lewis previously collected 104 and 96 tackles in his 2 full seasons (albeit under a different DC).
