Donovan McNabb trade to Minnesota complete

QB Donovan McNabb is officially a Minnesota Viking.  The Redskins agreed to trade him to Minnesota in exchange for a 2012 6th-round pick plus a conditional 6th-rounder in 2013.  That price tag gives you a good idea of just how far McNabb has fallen in the eyes of NFL personnel men.  Now 34 years old, he’s lost a good deal of mobility and arm strength.  That being said, he’s still a capable starter and is joining an offense with plenty of weapons — even if the Vikes lose WR Sidney Rice.  McNabb should fare much better in Minnesota than he did in Washington.  That being said, he should still be viewed as a low-end QB2 in fantasy leagues.  He’s made it through a full 16-game season just once in the past 7 seasons, and rookie QB Christian Ponder is waiting in the wings if he falters.  The signing is excellent news for Minnesota’s skill-position players though.  Ponder would have struggled early on.
