The Eagles used their 4th-round pick on Nebraska K Alex Henery, which likely signals the end of K David Akers’ time in Philly. It’s the earliest a kicker has been selected since 2006, so the Eagles clearly plan to start Henery. Akers was slapped with the transition tag earlier this offseason but refused to sign it. He’ll hit the free-agent market and shouldn’t have trouble finding a job.
