Seattle, WA- Seahawks’ running back Chris Carson is a good running back, but he continues to struggle with protecting the ball after contact. Turning the ball over has always been Carson’s struggles because he does not hold the ball high or even when he gets hit low, he does not put two hands on the ball.
Carson only fumbled three times in a span of 14 games last season, but over the last three weeks, Carson has fumbled the ball in three consecutive weeks. However, Wilson and Pete Carroll are not really concerned with Carson. Both, feel like Carson will improve and he has to get out of his head and just play the next down.
”I just kind of went up to him and said, ‘You know, some of the greatest running backs, Walter Payton fumbled, too,”’ quarterback Russell Wilson said. ”He just kind of laughed and I said it’s going to happen. Just realize you’re a great football player. Go for it.”
”It’s going to pass,” offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer said. ”We don’t have any doubt about that. We totally support him. Nobody feels worse about it than he does. The biggest thing for us is we know he’s a warrior, we know he’s a great player. He’ll bounce back.’
There has been speculation that other running backs may get more playing time because of the concerns with Carson and his fumbling problem, but it looks like everyone is supporting Carson.
