Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor and center Eric Wood are heading to Hawaii.
The two are Pro Bowl bound for the first time in their careers with the news breaking this morning that replacements were needed after the Carolina Panthers advanced to the Super Bowl, winning the NFC Championship game last night.
Taylor will be replacing Cam Newton while Wood will take the spot of Ryan Kalil.
W00d was the centerpiece for a Bills’ line that lead the league in rushing this season, averaging over 152 yards on the ground per game.
The next closest team to Buffalo, the Panthers, averaged just less than ten rushing yards less than the Bills per game.
The Bills’ total of 4.8 yards per attempt was also the highest mark in the NFL this season.
Wood will be the first Bills center to be named to the Pro Bowl since Kent Hull in 1990.
Taylor, in his first full-time season as a starter, impressed with his play throughout the season.
He completed 242 of 380 passes (63.7%) for 3,035 yards and added 20 touchdown passes to just six interceptions on the year.
Taylor also set the Buffalo Bills record for most yards rushing in a single-season, finishing with 568 yards on the ground while adding four rushing touchdowns.
Taylor becomes the first Bills quarterback to be named to the Pro Bowl since Drew Bledsoe in 2002.
LeSean McCoy (895 rushing yards, five total touchdowns) was voted into the game, but withdrew so he can continue to recover from a late-season knee injury that cost the star running back the last two weeks of the regular season .
Chris Ivory (1,070 rushing yards, eight total touchdowns) of the New York Jets will take his place.
It is the first time since 2002 that three or more offensive players from the Bills have been selected to the Pro Bowl.
