This past off-season, the San Francisco 49ers acquired former Giant running back Brandon Jacobs. This week, the Niners are set to take on the Giants, but an unhappy Jacobs isn’t so thrilled to take on his former team.
“It would be different if things were different, put it that way,” said Jacobs, who signed with the 49ers after being released by the Giants in the spring. “I don’t have any thoughts on it.”
Jacobs has seen zero playing time this season due to a knee injury, and once healthy will struggle to get his reps with a crowded backfield of Frank Gore and Kendall Hunter receiving the bulk of the carries.
“I’m just here doing what I’ve got to do, listening to people, practicing every day. That’s all I can do,” he said.
When asked about his health, Jacobs replied.
“I feel great. I feel phenomenal. My leg is as fresh as yours.”
USA today reports Jacobs felt the grass would be greener in San Francisco. Instead, he seems frustrated.
“Oh, very. Because I don’t know anything. I don’t know what’s what,” he said. “But I’m hanging in there, I’m working every day, doing what I have to do. Let’s say I’m just working and doing what I have to do and that’s that.”
